Organisation
The Federal Office of Economics and Export Control is headed by a president.
The Office has 4 Directorates-General: Directorate-General 1 (Central Services) is in charge of internal administration. The Directorate-General 2 (Export - Procedures, Licences, International Regimes - Procedures) and 3 (Export - Technical Aspects, Technical Assessment, International Regimes - Technical Aspects) deal with export control. Directorate-General 4 is entrusted with the promotion of economic development, imports of goods and issues in the field of energy. The Directorates-General are subdivided into Directorates and Divisions.
BAFA has a Branch Office in Bochum with a staff of 10.
Presently the staff of BAFA amounts to 621.
